Our favorite places to eat

Columbia Falls

Nite Owl & Back Room

522 9th St W, Columbia Falls These are Columbia Falls icons. The Nite Owl is kind of an old-fashioned breakfast diner and the Back Room is famous for their ribs and pizza. Both restaurants are under the same roof. niteowlbackroom.com

Three Forks Grille

729 Nucleus Ave, Columbia Falls “Rocky Mountain fare with an Italian flair” is how they are described on their website. They’re just a few minutes away in downtown Columbia Falls. We like their food. threeforksgrille.com

Gunsight Saloon

624 Nucleus Ave, Columbia Falls They’re just a few minutes away in downtown. This is such a fun place. They have a nice outdoor courtyard with live music some evenings. It’s a great place to have dinner and drinks. gunsightsaloon.com

Tupelo Grille

17 Central Ave, Whitefish This is another favorite of ours. It’s a romantic, quaint setting with great, flavorful food. You won’t be disappointed. The same owners as the Gunsight Saloon but quite a different menu. tupelogrille.com

Pescado Blanco

235 E 1st St, Whitefish This is Mexican fare, but probably not what you are accustomed to. These are not your cheesy plates with refried beans. You can get buffalo enchiladas and elk chorizo. This is Mexican fine dining! pescadoblancorestaurant.com

Ciao Mambo

234 E Second St, Whitefish This place is not the place for a quiet meal. It is loud, lively and very fun, and the food is always flying! Good Italian food and good fun for the family. ciaomambo.com

Kalispell, MT

Jagz Restaurant

3796 US-2 E, Kalispell 15 minutes West on Hwy 2, just South of the airport. Jagz has been around forever and is a local favorite. The menu is large, with something for everyone. The food is very good and you get plenty of it. We’ve just never had a bad meal at Jagz and they’re wonderful at working with food allergies as are most of the restaurants we’ve listed. jagzrestaurant.com

Blaine Creek Grille

100 Mt Hwy 206, Kalispell 15 minutes South of the lodge on Hwy 206. We’ve only tried it once but since it is so close to the lodge we figured we’d mention it. People seem to like it. facebook.com/blainecreekgrill

Echo Lake Café

Polebridge, MT

35 miles or 1 hour north from the lodge

Northern Lights Saloon

255 Polebridge Loop, Polebridge A place where grizzlies can be seen near town, Polebridge is in a wilderness setting, on the edge of Glacier National Park. There is a park entrance right down the road from the saloon. Its about 35 miles north of Columbia Falls and much of the drive is on gravel. They have great outdoor concerts in the summer and the saloon has good food. We especially like the elk meatloaf with huckleberry glaze. There is often a volleyball game going on and you will meet people from all over the world in this quaint little log saloon and restaurant. If you make the trip up, you will never forget it. We like to make the trip back to town through the park during huckleberry season at dusk. It’s a great time to see bears. We’ve also seen wolves on the inside the park road. We recommend bringing something to sit on and taking in a concert. Be sure to stop at the Polebridge Bakery if they are open. thenorthernlightssaloon.com
